Here Comes The Sun! (#92/100)

by Tailee See, TAKK trainee

Since end October, the daily weather has been gloomy, it’s either raining, snowing or misty and the day becomes shorter, night gets longer.  My daily mood is also following the flow of the seasonal weather.  During the spring and summer time, I could feel everything come to live, birds chirping with joy, flowers blooming, rabbits hopping around the garden, ducks swimming in the lake, young ladies in colourful summer clothes, parading their colourful hairs.  But they all slowly disappeared when season changed.  As for me, I feel like a slowly deflated balloon, losing its energy of staying afloat in the air.

Gloomy late fall, last day of November…

Ooh…I need to stay optimistic.

I should always feel as lively as the chirping birds in the spring. Now I realised how the sun has played an important part in our lives and how it affects our feelings without it.

I came from a tropical country, the sun shines 365 days.  Sometimes, I tried to avoid it by staying inside with A/C turned to high and sometimes even cursed the sun ‘Why you have to be so strong and hot?’.  So staying in a tropical region most of the time is sweaty and humid.  I would jump with joy if the weather turned windy and chilly, that would only be once in the blue moon!

Now I am living in one of the Nordic countries with seasonal weather.  Only 4-5 months in a year, that I can enjoy mild summer sunshine, that won’t even burn my skin, as compared to the tropical sun.  After living in the Nordic region for coming to 2 years, I have learned to appreciate and love the sun more than ever.

Autumn is leaving soon and long winter is waiting around the corner, just imagine the days without sun, as if all living things become static.  I can feel people that walking on the streets no longer smile happily like in the spring and summer time……  this shows how the weather can influence our mood.

Well…. I have found a way to keep me inspired, that is this old song ‘HERE COMES THE SUN’ written by George Harrison, it was first released on the Beatles’ 1969 album Abbey Road!  It has been giving me that positive thoughts every morning even though it is dark and cold outside. Listen to it, let me make believe that there is sunshine and lively surrounding.

So, if you also need to cheer up your cold winter morning, take a listen to this song and sing-a-long…..let the sun shining every day in your heart during the cold winter months!

Here comes the sun!

Here Comes The Sun – The Beatles

Here comes the sun..do..do..do..do…., here comes the sun

And I say it’s all right

Little darling, it’s been a long cold lonely winter

Little darling, it feels like years since it’s been here

Here comes the sun..do..do..do..do…., here comes the sun

And I say it’s all right

Little darling, the smiles returning to the faces

Little darling, it seems like years since it’s been here

Here comes the sun, here comes the sun

And I say it’s all right

Sun, sun, sun, here it comes  (Repeat 5x)

Little darling, I feel that ice is slowly melting

Little darling, it seems like years since it’s been clear

Here comes the sun, here comes the sun

And I say it’s all right

Here comes the sun..do..do..do..do…., here comes the sun

It’s all right, it’s all right.
