Have a Safe Workshop! (27#/100)

Safety at Work

Welcome with Restrictions

There’s workshops and then there’s workshops. The trendy word ”workshop” is quite something else in the Vocational Education and Training (VET). Hardly any papers, except construction site drawings. Neither any tables or chairs, except those under construction. Nor any group discussions, except the debate and the negotiation between the artisan and his raw material before turning it into something beautiful and practical. Coffee definitely, but you knew that.

However safe it is, safer than in the business workshops, as the zero tolerance of accidents demands serious actions. It is, as if you had arrived to Singapore: Wear a helmet. Wear the safety vest. Put on your hearing protection. Stay within the marked routes. And NO ENTRY for outsiders. Not a welcoming message, but definitely keeps the workshops safe for the purposes they were made for. Bunch of 40 international visitors wanting to see the workshops themselves, well, it takes some consideration to arrange. Usually through a glass window 🙂
